A few weeks back Crytek announced a new game engine, “CryEngine3″ as a successor to the previous engine that powers Crysis. For those out of the loop, the CryEngine 2 already out-performs practically every other engine in terms of graphics- and as a result requires a literal beast of a machine to run it anywhere the near highest settings. This new engine is set to make Gaming PC builders cry as their wallets are pushed to the limit once more. As someone without the cash to put towards a beast of a machine, I’m also pretty happy to hear that it’s built to support the PS3 and 360, although we’ll have to see what the consoles can output. The damage model looks incredible, especially with the tree leaves.
